OUR STORY
FROM CAPE TOWN TO DE PIJP
We got married in Cape Town, under the mountain that gave this place its name. Lion's Head is the peak that watches over the city, and we wanted a corner of Amsterdam that felt like home. In 2018 we opened the doors on Van Woustraat and we've been here ever since: a South African sports bar and restaurant run by husband-and-wife team Shaun and Katja.

COOKED THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAY
Shaun studied gastronomy with a focus on South African food history, and it shows on the plate. We make our own boerewors and dry our own droëwors and biltong in-house. The flame grill does the rest: peri-peri chicken, braai platters, boerewors with pap and chakalaka, proper burgers and a real Durban bunny chow. Honest food, generous portions and 11 beers on tap to go with it.

WHERE THE BOKKE PLAY
Shaun is a lifelong Springbok supporter, so live sport was never optional. Five screens with live sound: every Springbok test, URC and Premiership rugby, the Premier League, Champions League and Formula 1. On a big match day the whole place sings. Visiting Amsterdam and looking for somewhere to watch the game? You've found it.
